This policy explains what data True Adam collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. We aim to collect as little as possible.
True Adam analyzes a photo of your face. We treat face data as sensitive personal information. This section explains exactly how we handle it.
What we capture. A still image (selfie) that you provide by tapping the upload control in the Face Scan or Hair Studio tabs. You choose the image — the app never captures photos automatically.
On-device face landmark detection. Before anything is sent off the device, the image is processed locally on your phone using Google MediaPipe FaceMesh. This produces numeric landmark coordinates and a small set of geometric ratios (e.g., eye spacing, jaw width). The raw image is not uploaded for the numeric Face Scan score.
Images sent to Anthropic (third-party AI). For Hair Studio (face shape analysis) and for the Pro AI tips that reference your scan, the resized image and/or your numeric measurements are sent over HTTPS to our backend, which forwards them to Anthropic, Inc. (Claude API) for analysis. We do this only after you explicitly consent on first use; you can decline and the feature will be unavailable.
Identity & biometric template — not collected. True Adam does not generate a face print, FaceID-style template, or any biometric identifier from your photo. The image is not used to recognize, authenticate, or re-identify you. We do not match faces across users.
Retention. Photos and measurements are held only in memory during the API call and are discarded immediately when the request completes. We do not write them to disk, databases, or logs on our backend. Anthropic processes the image to generate the response and, per Anthropic's API policies, does not retain inputs for training (see Anthropic's privacy policy).
Sharing. Face data is shared only with Anthropic, for the sole purpose of producing your analysis. It is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or any other third party.
Your choice. If you change your mind, you can stop using the Face Scan and Hair Studio features. To remove the consent flag and any on-device history, use iOS Settings → True Adam → Reset, or delete the app.
Numeric measurements and scores. The geometric ratios derived from your scan and any sub-scores are sent with your tips request to our backend and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalized recommendations. These are not stored on our servers.
Purchase information. When you subscribe or buy a scan pack, the transaction is processed by Apple via StoreKit and by RevenueCat (our subscription provider). We do not see your payment details. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier so we can verify your entitlement on the device.
On-device storage. Your entitlement state (subscription / scan credits), scan history, and consent flag are stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. This data does not leave your device.
We have reviewed each third party's published privacy commitments and require equivalent protection of any data we share.

Because we don't have accounts or store your content, there is generally nothing to delete on our side. To remove all on-device data (including your consent flag and scan history), delete the app or use iOS Settings → True Adam → Reset.

True Adam is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app is rated 9+ on the App Store.
If we change this policy materially we will update the effective date above and note the change in app release notes.
